Famous for their political cartoons, especially the ferries that at the end of each election they brought the defeated candidates to Manacapuru, the journalist, cartoonist and artist with more than 40 years of career in the Acrean press Dim exposes 21 works from Tuesday, 26, at the Acre Court of Audit (TCE-AC).
In the exhibition ‘Amazonic Colors’ the artist is inspired by works of renowned artists such as Van Gogh and Salvador Dali reinterpreted with elements of acrean culture and history.
“What inspires me is the things around me. In Acre is the population, the landscape, the people of the forest,” explains the Tarauacaense artist.
In this merger the starry night of Dutchman Van Gogh turns into a night in the old market, while Madonna Lita, a picture that researchers believe to be from Leonardo da Vinci, is transported to a rubber tapper’s house.
Similarly, Dalí surrealism in the persistence of memory gains a new version with elements of the Amazon rainforest. References can be found throughout the exhibition, including in honor of one of the greatest Acre musicians João Donato (1934-2023) that only the most attentive should realize.
The president of the ECA, counselor Dulce Benício, celebrated the artist and said that he serves as inspiration for the public service.
“We need to value our talent, our local art. I see as a gift that touches our souls and each of the servers. In addition to making us reflect on the responsibility of doing the best and most beautiful work for our society, people who are invisible and need our work. That we can do what is attributed to us with the same perfection with which you portray our nature,” he said.
The exhibition runs until September 26th is free and open to the public. The headquarters of the Court of Auditors is Avenida Ceará, 2,994.
