The co -founder and the council of the Hunger Pact, Geyze Diniz, declared on Wednesday (27.ago.2025) that Brazil “cannot believe it ” that the fight against food insecurity is “fulfilled ”. He also stated that “One third of all food produced in the country goes to the trash” and that “The cost that hunger generates is greater than the cost of ending it”.
The statement was given during a speech at the release ceremony of the legislative agenda chaired by (Republicans-PB). The event, held at the Noble Hall of the Chamber of Deputies, was presented by the suprapartisan and non -profit movement.
“According to the United Nations (UN), 7.1 million people are in severe food insecurity. 28.5 million in severe and moderate food insecurity in a country that is one of the largest food producers in the world.”said Geyze.
In July, the FAO/UN (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) for having less than 2.5% of the population in “Subalimentation”, its own criterion used by the international entity to evaluate the scenario.

- of the deputy (União Brasil-AC): which provides for priority for the acquisition and distribution of food from PAA (Food Acquisition Program) in the face of climate emergencies.

- Senator (PT-RS): Disciplines the obligation of schools to protect children and adolescents against obesity and diabetes, ensuring healthy eating in schools.
Hunger pact
