Castilla y León | The fires are stabilized, but there are still 13 evicted towns
The situation of forest fires in the province of León has improved in the last hours, although there are still 13 evicted peoples, as reported on Wednesday the territorial delegate of the Board, Eduardo Diego, after presiding over a new meeting of the Integrated Operating Coordination Center (Cecopi). However, five fires of maximum danger in the province are still (Anllares, Fasgar, La Baña, Colinas del Campo de Martín Moro Toledano and Garaño) and another four in level 1.
Positive evolution has allowed reducing the number of evacuated people and lifting confinements in several locations. However, 13 locations remain evicted, with a total of 346 people, which represents a 150 decrease compared to the previous day. On the other hand, fifteen populations continue in confinement, a situation that affects about 1,200 people.
Among the most worrisome foci is Fasgar’s fire, which affects areas of Murias de Paredes and the Gordo Valley and that has shown a favorable evolution, which has allowed the evacuation of five locations to be lifted, which now go to urban confinement: Fasgar, Vegapujín, Omaña, Torrecillo and Barrio de la Puente neighborhood.
On the other slope of the fire, in Colinas del Campo de Martín Moro Toledano, terrestrial and aerial means continue to work to prevent the fire from reaching the urban nucleus again or extends to projections and tremor.
In the fire of the bath, the night conditions have been favorable, with low temperatures that have helped contain the fire in a specially complex area. The teams continue to work to close the perimeter and be able to attack the fire definitively.
Regarding the fire of Garaño, in Magdalena, progress has been made in perimetration through the Mora de Luna area using specific counterflows and tactics to avoid its expansion, while the intervention with aerial and terrestrial means is maintained.
In Llamas de Cabrera the situation is also stable. News have not registered during the night, although the broad perimeter requires constant surveillance.
The Fire of Anllares del Sil, which forced to raise its level of risk due to the evacuation of the neighbors of Anllarinos, is content. Although there is still a flame, the situation is stable and works to cool the area and reduce its danger.
Diego has pointed out that time forecasts are favorable, with a decrease in temperatures, increased humidity and possibility of rainfall, although strong winds are expected. “The information that comes to us is positive. We are working well and we hope that weather helps improve the situation in the province,” he concluded. (EFE)
