(Reuters) – Elon Musk’s lawyers asked a US judge to prevent ChatgPT owner OpenAi from obtaining a target documents related to a previous offer of $ 97.4 billion by OpenAi assets, according to a court case.
OpenAi said last week that Musk tried to include its rival Mark Zuckerberg in its offer by the artificial intelligence company earlier this year, but that the goal leader did not accept.

OpenAI then asked the judge to order the goal to present documents and communications related to any offer by the company. The goal asked the judge to deny the request, saying that he should seek relevant documents directly with Musk and his AI startup, Xai.

In a document presented on Tuesday, Musk’s lawyers said OpenAi had already received documents related to his offer and its AI startup. They added that OpenAi’s “expansive discovery” was irrelevant to the current phase of the trial.

However, OpenAi lawyers and executive president Sam Altman asked the judge to reject Musk’s statements and said they were not seeking a “expansive” and “vast” discovery and that relevant document requests were directed and “covering weeks, not years.”

“The authors of the action tried to explain the absence of documents related to the offer by stating that their communications were mainly oral. If this is true, then the need for testimonials-of Musk, a representative of Xai and other co-affectants-is even more pressing,” they wrote.
