Brasília (Reuters) – A year of having to face a new election campaign, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva wants to bet on the idea that the government has one side, and launches next week a new campaign and a new slogan, “Government of Brazil: On the side of the Brazilian people”.
The new logo and the ideas of the government’s new communication were presented by the Minister of the Communication Secretariat, Sidônio Palmeira, during the ministerial meeting on Tuesday. The intention is to reinforce the tone that Planalto has found, and has been working so far, of a government in defense of social justice, tax justice and, after the wave of tariffs imposed by the US government, the defense of sovereignty.
Since the end of the first half, the government has won some wins, especially on social networks, and was able to win a space that was being dominated by the opposition. The first was to get the idea that, when defending the reduction of income tax for those who earn up to $ 5,000 per month and, on the other hand, propose a taxation of those who earn more than $ 1 million per year, would be looking for social justice.

“The idea is to show that this is a government that has a side, which is on the side of the Brazilian people, sovereignty, associating with public policies,” a source told the meeting.
At a time when part of the parties who today have ministers on the Esplanade – especially PP and União Brasil, who want to join in a federation – they begin to prepare to be opposed in the 2026 elections, those present were charged to defend not only their folders and their deeds, but the numbers of Lula’s mandate as a whole.
At the end of the meeting, Lula returned to the need for the ministers to defend the government and specifically aimed at the names of Centrão party. Despite saying that he does not see the names as political groups and have a direct relationship with each of them, he said they need to know how to defend the government, even at events of their parties, when the government is attacked.

“All ministers need to be present in the defense of the government, their legacy, not just in their areas,” the source said, explaining the charging of the president.
When starting the meeting, the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, said that the focus of the team should now be in deliveries that the government makes, compared to the government of Jair Bolsonaro.
“It is important that we can highlight the deliveries, giving capillarity to this communication, either with physical, virtual presence or interviews of technicians and ministers in the states. And what people can understand the most, when comparing how it was and how it is,” said Costa.
