A woman was arrested by the alleged authorship of a forest fire on 21 August, in the municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso, Braga district, (PJ), adding that the suspect was in pre -trial detention.
In a statement, this criminal investigation force says that the fire launched in the parish of Sobradelo da Goma, having consumed, “approximately, half hectare of forest, in a forest zone of high density of flammable matter and very sharp topographic slope.”
“The facts were communicated to the Department of Criminal Investigation of Braga, the PJ unit that conducts the investigation by the local GNR, and the respective investigative diligence was entered, and the woman was referenced as highly suspicious,” explains the PJ.
The 32 -year -old woman, “It had been residing for a few weeks in the respective place of the fire and had given rise to this by direct flame, using lighter.”
“The place where the fire was set is located in a zone with high conditions at rapid spread of extensive contiguous forest spots, and the criminal action generated a high concrete risk of propagation to the entire surrounding forest, where they also punctuate several housing clusters,” PJ adds, “
According to this criminal investigation force, the fire, “Early detected by popular, it was extinguished by resorting to an air medium and the action of the firefighters, who promptly submitted to the site and thus prevented spread.”
The research steps carried out later allowed “the consolidation of relevant evidence, which based the detention out of the blatant crime of the suspicion.”
