In a new nod to mayors from the interior of São Paulo, the governor (Republicans) made a series of promises to transfer resources to municipalities on Monday (26) and then participated in a football match organized by APM (Paulista Association of Municipalities) at Mercado Livre Arena, Pacaembu Stadium.
The gestures occur amid complaints of transfers reduction by mayors to state deputies and while Tarcisio reinforces actions to build electoral stands for next year – when he must compete for reelection or run for the presidency.
The APM event, in Pacaembu’s exhibition space, brought together more than 400 mayors according to the organizers, who crowded the space with 40 booths offering services to cities, such as smart cameras and sanitation.
Tarcísio, who gave a speech in an auditorium under one of the stands, promised that he will extend his SUS Paulista Table Program, which passes a complementary value to the Ministry of Health’s money to 104 municipal hospitals, expanding the program that served holy houses and philanthropic medical centers.
In addition, he pledged to send 200 ambulances to smaller cities.
Tarcisio also announced the purchase of agricultural machinery for cities and meeting at least one demand for municipality among parliamentary amendments that have not yet been released this year.
“The government will be with you in these discussions, we know how important health costs is,” he said.
The promise of cooperation is similar to that made by Tarcisio last Friday, in Marilia, in the interior of the state, when he summoned mayors of the region and made similar nods.
Although Tarcisio was harassed by the public and applauded in his speech during the speech on stage, when the authorities present were announced, the former governor (without party) received effusive applause on both occasions when his name was mentioned, one of them by the governor himself.
In complaints made behind the scenes, municipal managers claim that resources to cities came out more quickly in the previous management. They avoid public criticism because most cities are controlled by parties allied to Tarcisio – from 645 municipalities from São Paulo, 4 are administered by the PT, 9 by the PSB, and the rest, acronyms from the Governor’s base.
After the speech, Tarcisio, the mayor of the capital, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), and other mayors went to the stadium lawn, then went to the locker rooms, exchanged and participated in a soccer match – whose referee was the state secretary of government, national president.
Kassab has the function of intermediating relationships of Tarcisio management with state deputies and mayors and caused discord between allies of the governor of other parties last year, seeking to expand the number of mayors affiliated with his acronym, which, with the movement, began to control about 200 of the 645 cities of São Paulo.
