The government approves the fund for supporting digital innovations and technological startups

The Government of the Republic of Moldova has approved the creation of a fund for financial support for digital innovations and technological startups, which will activate at Moldova IT Park, transmits NO.md.

According to the decision, the Fund will offer investment opportunities for the park residents in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, Gov-Tech, Biotech, Agri-Tech, Cloud and Robotics.

The administration of the fund will be carried out by the “Moldova IT Park” administration, and the selection and monitoring of the projects will be carried out through a coordination committee, meant to ensure transparency and efficiency. The financing will be made mainly from external sources.

At the same time, the project approved by the Executive also provides for the modernization of the activity of Moldova IT Park. Changes include: the introduction of clearer administrative mechanisms, rules for avoiding decision -making blockages, updating the duties of the park council, complete digitization of the registration process and adjusting the financial regime.

Through these measures, Moldova IT Park aims to strengthen its role as an engine development, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, attracting talents, internationalization of startups and mobilizing investments, including the diaspora.

Currently, Moldova IT Park brings together over 2300 residents in 42 countries. In 2024, the companies in the park generated a turnover of over 15 billion lei, of which about 90% on the external markets, and the number of employees exceeds 24 thousand people.
