The Lučenec self -government began for the occurrence of viral hepatitis A (VHA) in the district with intensive disinfection of public spaces. The measure should contribute to reducing the risk of spreading the disease, and cases of infection within the city have not yet been recorded. The town hall informed about it on its website.
The disinfection of the municipality performs in places with increased movement of people. These include playgrounds, public transport stops, square and its surroundings or space around the post office. “The safety of the population is paramount to us. That is why we have taken immediate measures and ensured the disinfection of the premises that are most used. We ask residents for cooperation and compliance with basic hygiene rules,” said Mayor Alexandra Pivková.
The municipality also calls on the inhabitants for caution, thorough washing of the hands after using the toilet, after arriving home and before meals. Parents also ask for increased supervision of children when playing in public places.
In the region, hygienists have been increasing the increase in jaundice types A in the region from the beginning of the summer. The first cases occurred in Fiľakov and its surroundings, the disease was to be imported from abroad to the region. The Regional Public Health Authority in Lučenec currently registers active outbreaks in the villages of Dobroč, Šíd, Radzovce, Šárov and Podrečany and Fiľakov. In Lučenec itself, cases of disease have not yet been recorded.
Type A hepatitis is a transmissible disease, it causes viral liver inflammation in humans. The virus is most often transmitted by direct contact. The disease begins with symptoms resembling influenza and gastrointestinal symptoms associated with abdominal pain, joints, general nausea, with elevated temperature, and dark urine is also present. In a few days, most of the sick will appear jaundice.
