In an open letter, Austrian diplomats call up to increase the pressure on the Israeli government due to the situation in Gaza. The “appeal to the federal government” has the title “urgently need to follow action”. Ex-Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero-Waldner (ÖVP), her predecessor Peter Jankowitsch (SPÖ) and ex-state secretary Wolfgang Waldner (ÖVP) signed, among others. In the letter, which the APA has first reported and which is available to the standard, sanctions against Israel are required: The suspension of the EU Israel Association Agreement should “seriously promote”, as well as those of funding programs.
