UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) held on Thursday (28), in an event in Monaco, the draw of the Champions League League phase. The clashes that will have each of the 36 clubs that obtained a place at this stage of the competition were defined.
Current champion, Paris Saint-Germain will have Bayern and Barcelona among their opponents. Real Madrid, a tournament title record holder, with 15 trophies, will measure forces with Manchester City and Liverpool.
In the format adopted since last year, each team has been drawn eight opponents, based on UEFA pre-established pots. Although the rivals of each team are different, the classification table is one.
The first eight advance directly to the round of 16. The associations between ninth and 24th position vie for a knockout round, with a round trip to join the first eight. The last eight of the alloy phase are eliminated.
From the round of 16, the shape is the traditional, with roundtime games to the definition of the champion. The decision is made in a single game and in the 2025/26 edition is scheduled for the Puskás Arena in Budapest, Hungary, on May 30. The tournament will start in September (see dates below).
