On the cyclist’s social networks it was indicated that he suffered a pneumothorax, fractured five ribs and the lumbar vertebrae and, for this reason, will be operated on Thursday. The four -time champion of the Tour de France, who also adds victories at Giro d’Italia and Vuelta to España, should be away from the competition by the end of the season. The contract that connects it to Israeli formation ends at the end of 2025, and no renewal for the following times are not yet guaranteed.

By 2019, the cyclist had already suffered a drop during the Criterium du Dauphiné that forced him to a long recovery. Since then, he has not been able to return to the performance that led him to the top of world cycling, but remained active in the large laps.
