Contest awards impact photos of extreme heat – 27/08/2025 – New on sheet

Registration for the global photography contest promoted by Global Heat Health Information Network (Ghhin) in partnership with the Earth Journalism Network (EJN) of InterNews is The initiative seeks to portray the impacts of around the world and the ways in which communities are responding to this challenge.

The contest is open to participants from around the world, over 18, and does not provide for cash awards. Photographs must be original and cannot be generated by artificial intelligence.

Registered images should fit into one of four categories: impacts of heat on human health, infrastructure and economy, environment and animals or heat resilience strategies.

Winners and finalists will have access to a virtual photojournalism masterclass with documentary filmmaker Nicola Vigilanti, participation in a rehearsal produced by Ghhin and EJN, as well as the inclusion of his works in a digital exhibition displayed at global events organized by and other UN agencies linked to climate change.

The selected will also receive a certificate of recognition and will have their work promoted in international communication channels.
