‘We have already entered the transport sector, we are entering the fuel sector,’ said the state governor, noting that this is a ‘historic day’
The governor of São Paulo (Republicans), praised on Thursday (28), the Operation Hidden Carbon, which mobilized the Federal Police, the Military Police, promoters of the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) and agents of state and federal revenues in Avenida Faria Lima, the main financial center of the country.
The offensive gathered 1,400 agents to fulfill 200 search and seizure warrants against 350 targets in ten states. The investigation aims to control the fuel chain, part of it dominated by the First Capital Command (CCP). Only at Faria Lima, 42 targets – between companies, brokers and investment funds – are distributed in five addresses, including iconic buildings in the region.
“A great intelligence work started here in Sao Paulo with Gaeco and the police, and this effort spread to the whole country,” said Tarcisio. “We are courageously facing groups that until then thought they were untouchable. The factions are being fought like never before.”
According to the governor, the operation also involves the Federal Prosecutor, the IRS and the State Revenue, as well as the Federal Police. He defended new measures to combat organized crime, such as approval, in Congress, of the law of the stretch debtor. “We have already entered the transportation sector, we are entering the fuel sector,” he said, noting that this is a “historic day”. “The message is clear: in Sao Paulo, organized crime will not have time.”
