In Colombia, the three -day kidnapping of soldiers ended in their release. The area is controlled by the rebels of the grouping after the collapse of the FARC, the clashes required victims of life.

A group of 33 Colombian soldiers was liberated on Thursday after being held in the Southeast Amazon community where dissident geril groups operate, the Ombudsman office said. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.

After the soldiers entered the sharp clashes with gerila on Monday, the locals blocked roads to prevent their departure, which the left -wing government Gustav Petra considered a kidnapping. The authorities initially stated that 34 soldiers were detained, but later adjusted this number to 33. The release of soldiers was mediated by government delegations, the Ombudsman Office and the United Nations.

“At the moment, soldiers are moving from the village of Nueva York” in the Department of Guaviare, said Ombudsman’s head of the Ombudsman Iris Marin’s office on Platform X.

Clashes have claimed victims

There are several groups in the area that have been split since the former rebel organization of the revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and which reject the 2016 peace agreement. These groups are often involved in drug smuggling, illegal mining and blackmail.

The clashes between soldiers and armed rebels led by military commander Ivan Mordisco began on Sunday and claimed 10 dead. The Ministry of Defense on social networks announced that it had filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office for the kidnapping.

The army sent “other units to prevent any attacks in this enemy environment”, where the local population “manipulate” insurgents, said in the statement of military commander Admiral Francisco Cubides. According to the government, such detention is often carried out by locals who are manipulated by armed groups in areas where the presence of the state is minimal.
