Macron’s words about Putin caused tensions between Moscow and Paris. The Russian Foreign Ministry describes them as disproportionate and vulgar.

Moscow on Friday strongly criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for calling Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “predator” and “monster”. According to the AFP report, TASR writes about it.

In an interview with LCI, Macron warned European leaders last week not to trust Putin. “For his own survival, (Putin) must continue to eat … That means he is a predator, a non -creating waiting in front of our gates,” Macron said.

These comments were made after meeting with US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenable and European Allies in Washington.

Insults have been described as vulgar

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly enclosed these statements. “They cross not only the limits of reason, but also decency and become vulgar insults of Russia and its inhabitants,” said Ministry spokeswoman Marija Zacharovova during a press briefing.

Moscow has long criticized France’s support for Ukraine and accuses Paris of provoking a conflict. France has been one of Kiev’s most loyal supporters since the beginning of the extensive military offensive launched in February 2022. Paris provides weapons and financial assistance to Ukraine.
