National Panorama
Despite losing a percentage of participation in the last four years, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro remain the states that have the most in the technology sector. In number of companies in the segment, São Paulo adds 222 thousand (in 2023 there were 223 thousand), with a total revenue of R $ 376 billion per year.
Rio de Janeiro occupies the second position, with revenues of R $ 68 billion, but the drop in the number of companies to 51,879, compared to 54,316, in 2023, caused the state to be overtaken by Minas Gerais – with 6 more companies (51,885).
Other states also had greater economic participation last year. This was the case of Paraná (+0.53 pp), Ceará (+0.29 pp) and Santa Catarina (+0.28 pp), which reduced the participation of revenues from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to 54% – compared to 57% in 2018.
