Predrag Vujosevic changed his dog for the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona. That night dodged death, but lost freedom: Justice has restricted the third flexible grade that enjoyed. With 51 years, and a very long criminal record, his name flooded the newspapers in the early 2000s, after a robbery in the Graff Jewelry, in London. The police considered him the leader of that blow – committed in 2003 and valued at more than 20 million – of which he escaped unpunished. And the British press finished him when he found the perfect nickname for the comedian group of robbers, dressed in wig, suit and sunglasses: pink panthers (pink panthers), inspired by the films that Peter Sellers starred, and the later series of cartoons.
After spectacular robberies, arrests, convictions and ink rivers, his name plunged into oblivion. In 2021 he returned to the covers although he no longer stole diamonds of incalculable value, now he dedicated himself to another business as or more lucrative than the previous one: cocaine traffic. But it was brief: his sentenced in 2022 to six years in prison for the 388 packages that were found in the trunk of a Citroën Berlingo found in Adeje (Tenerife) with 406 kilos of cocaine went unnoticed. That resulted in relatively well: neither he nor his two cronies, also Montenegrinos, were convicted of forming a criminal group, which was a reduction of the 11 -year -old initial penalty that the Prosecutor’s Office requested, although a fine of 15 million fell to them.
After a time in prison in the Canary Islands, Vujosevic was transferred to Catalonia. When they tried to kill him in Barcelona, he enjoyed a comfortable and discreet third grade penitentiary: he slept in prison from Monday to Friday, in the open center of the city of the city of the city, and on weekends he could spend them out. Precisely, he was shot on a Saturday night, when he walked not far from the house where he lived, now that he was just spent time in jail.
It happened in a moment. They were half past eleven, Vujosevic walked with his veteran pink panther He went to the hospital by his own foot and there and operated with wounds in one arm. Almost miraculously, the bullets did not affect any vital organ. Now the Department of Justice has ordered its re -entry in prison. Vujosevic maintains the third degree, but can only leave prison – he has been transferred to another center – on weekends. In addition, it was aware of an even more flexible third degree, which would have behaved exclusively a telematic control, but that option has finally been ruled out.
The Generalitat disconnects the decision of the shooting and attributes it to “dysfunctional circumstances” that have prevented them from accessing telematic control. They ensure that the “most restricted” modality of the third degree for which it has been chosen is linked to housing changes, overnight stays in hotels and other circumstances that make the reverse in the planned plans necessary. The department does admit that it is due to an “institutional involution” of the inmate. The decision is contrary to the one taken immediately after the attempt of murder. Vujosevic enjoyed an extraordinary permit for which, for 15 days, he did not have to go to prison. Knowledgeable sources of the latest judicial decisions ensure that the measure adopted by penitentiary institutions of the Generalitat has not been made at the request of the old pink panther.
The Mossos investigate the murder attempt and look for the shooter who triggered Vujosevic without killing him. The main hypothesis is that in his time in prison in France, where Vujosevic was arrested and sentenced in 2005 to nine years in prison for robberies in jewelry in the Gaul pink panther to be part of the Skaljari mafia clan, which owes its name to the neighborhood of the Montenegrina city of Kotor. And the Skaljari are at war with the Kavac, another group born in another neighborhood of the same city, after several cross murders linked to drug trafficking. One of the last, on July 15, in Barcelona, when it was, of the Kavac. It happened on the street of Consell de Cent, in the same neighborhood of Eixample where he walked to his Vujosevic dog. “Everything makes us think is related,” says police sources, about possible revenge.
The shooting in Barcelona has returned the infamous fame to Vujosevic, to which a British police defined as “a short man … the type of people in which you would not fix the street.” He told it in an extensive report in which the mother of the offender said that her son, originally from Bijela, began to flee from justice with 25 years, then did not appear to the trial for the death of another driver with whom he collided when he fell asleep behind the flywheel at dawn. And the shooting has also been afraid in the body to reprisals, in this new war between Montenegrinos drugs, which is fought throughout Europe. Only five days after Vujosevic’s murder attempt in Barcelona, another member close to the Skaljari was shot – and survived – while spending a few days of vacation in a hotel near the Montenegrina coastal city in Budva. The victim’s images sunbathing a pool and receiving several shots have been viralized in Montenegro.
