Tourist accommodation benefits rise 8.4% to 3.9 billion euros until July

Tourist accommodation generated 3,886.7 million euros of total profits in the first seven months of the year, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period of 2024, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (), this Friday released.

According to the rapid statistics of tourist activity, national tourist accommodation establishments recorded 45.8 million overnights between January and July, which corresponds to a 2.7%rise.

Already the income for room until July totaled 2,969.9 million euros, an increase of 8.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In an analysis only in July, the tourist accommodation sector registered 3.4 million guests (+4.3%) and 9.4 million overnight (+3.5%), generating 891.1 million euros of total profit and 701.6 million euros of room for income (+10.6%and+9.2%, respectively).

The Algarve was the region that most contributed to the globality of profits (34.2% of total profits and 34.3% of room profits), followed by Greater Lisbon (22.9% and 23.2%, respectively) and North (14.1% and 14.2%, by the same order).

The most significant increases in profits occurred in wood ( +20.8% in total profit and +21.9% in the room) and in the center ( +12.6% and +13.0%, by the same order), while Greater Lisbon presented the most modest growths ( +7.9% in total profit and +2.9% for retirement).

Residents and non -residents contributed to the growth of overnight, with increases of, respectively, 6.7% and 2.2%, respectively, totaling 2.9 and 6.5 million overnight, in the same order.

In July, among the top 10 issuing markets in terms of sleep, Poland stood out with a 14%growth, followed by the United States (+12.3%).

On the contrary, the Spanish (-10%), French, Brazilian and the Netherlands (the three with -3%) markets with the highest decreases.

The average yield per room available (regpar) was situated at 101.1 euros (+5.1%) and the average yield per bedroom busy reached 151.8 euros (+5.6%).
