The government of the announced that it will investigate the attack on shots occurred at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis (Minnesota) as a crime of hatred and act of domestic terrorism. The attack left two children dead and 17 people injured on the morning of Wednesday (27). According to the White House, it will be responsible for the analysis of the case, even finding out if the suspect had, in fact, transsexual identity. The information was confirmed by spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, who also condemned criticism made by Jen Psaki, MSNBC host and former president of former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Psaki questioned the habit of Republican leaders to offer “prayers” in the face of tragedies without discussing arms control policies. For Leavitt, such comments were “disrespectful” with those who believe in prayer.
The US has the highest per capita weapons rate in the world and historically resisted the adoption of stricter legislation, even in the face of alarming numbers: 286 shootings recorded in 2025. The shooter was identified as 23 -year -old Robin Westman, who opened fire during a mass at school before suicide. According to local police, Westman had declared himself transsexual. Both National Security Secretary Kristi Noem and FBI director Kash Patel classified the author as a “monster”.
Investigations point out that before the attack, Westman published videos on Youtube in which he threatened Donald Trump, anti -Semite comments and warned that he would attack a Catholic school. The material has already been removed from the platform and is part of federal investigation.
