Writer died on Saturday (30) at the age of 88, after complications caused by pneumonia

ABL (Brazilian Academy of Letters) communicated lamenting that of the writer, at dawn on Saturday (30.2025), in Porto Alegre. The gaucho author died at the age of 88 because of complications caused by a severe picture of pneumonia.

The son of the writer Erico Verissimo, Luis Fernando was born on September 26, 1936 in Porto Alegre (RS) and lived part of his childhood and adolescence in the United States, before returning to Brazil. In addition to his contribution to literature, he also acted as a cartoonist and screenwriter.
