Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti called on Flamengo’s striker Samuel Lino to replace Matheus Cunha in the matches against Chile and Bolivia, valid for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Matheus Cunha, from Manchester United, was injured during the confrontation between his team and Burnley for the English Championship on Saturday (30). He had a muscle injury to his left thigh and, after a conversation between the national team’s medical team, was suspicious.

This was the third change in the coach’s original list caused by an injury. Before, Vanderson of Monaco and Joelinton of Newcastle had already been replaced by Vitinho, from Botafogo, and Jean Lucas, from Bahia, respectively.

Alex Sandro, from Flamengo, was also injured, but Ancelotti preferred not to call a replacement for him.

Third place in the qualifiers, with 25 points, and already classified to the World Cup, Brazil will face Chile on Thursday (4), in Maracanã, at 9:30 pm, and Bolivia, the following Tuesday (9), in El Alto, in the neighboring country, at 20:30.
