Goodbye Mosquitoes: Discover the homemade trick to clean the insect marks in your vehicle without spoiling the painting

During the summer, mosquitoes turn into an authentic plague and, besides bothering those who are outdoors, can bring unpleasant surprises to drivers. In Spain, there are already motorists fined 100 euros by cleaning the car windows on the public road, even when they only tried to remove the accumulated insects.

The warning was given by Juan José, mechanic of the Ebenezer Tallers in Seville, quoted by the Andaluzo El Correo portal. He explained, he had heard of this situation, but only confirmed the reality when a client showed him the fine received.

According to Spanish regulation, the sanction does not only apply to those who stop at the road to clean the glasses, which can cause safety risks, but also to those who do this task while the vehicle is parked on the street.

The testimony of the mechanic

“I understand that if they fine people to wash the car and dirty the floor, but for taking mosquitoes? What do we do then? Let’s circulate with insects full of insects?” Asked the mechanic, in statements cited by the Spanish press.

Juan Jose adds that in some cases mosquitoes are so large that even with the slim grabbers it is possible to remove them. “We have to respect the laws, but they also need to be consistent with everyone,” he said.

Added risk: fines for poor visibility

The fines are not here. The Spanish General Traffic Directorate (DGT) also provides for fines of up to 200 euros for drivers circulating with reduced visibility due to dirt or damage to the vehicle’s glasses.

According to, the legislation considers that the lack of visibility compromises road safety and, therefore, can be punished in an aggravated manner.

Care with the gray cleaning

To avoid problems, the mechanic recommends a simple but effective maintenance of the slim-of-slips. Instead of aggressive products, such as alcohol, it suggests the use of a damp cloth with water, or alternatively, “a little” of wiper or plastic moisturizer to extend the life of the brushes.

These practices help not only to face insect accumulation, but also to prepare glasses for other unexpected situations that can reduce road visibility.
