In a demonstration of war and diplomatic force, China will hold, in the port city of Tianjin, on August 31 and September 1, a military parade to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Among the guests, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladmir Putin.
The military parade will be attended by 10,000 soldiers, more than 100 aircraft and hundreds of terrestrial war equipment. According to Chinese officers, all products were manufactured in China itself and several of them will be seen in public for the first time.
The demonstration of strength comes in the wake of a more assertive Beijing posture on regional territorial disputes, such as Taiwan’s case.
