Summer is slowly ending, but here and there there will also be a hot day, which – but mainly to your dog – can really work. Here are some tips on how to relieve your furry.
In the summer, each of you sweats properly… Sure, there is nothing pleasant to fly in a sweaty T -shirt, but on the other hand, it is good to know that in this way your body will cool down. If you didn’t sweat, you would probably “cook in your own juice” sooner or later. Your pets could tell about such a feeling. Dogs are also sweating, but unlike you, very limited, on the tongue and pillows. And given the dog constitution is not exactly much.
Dog
“Dogs are cooling mainly by breathing,” explains the veterinarian, adding that the fast breath acts as a form of body air conditioning. Unfortunately, a lot of furry is not enough. According to an expert, the biggest summer hell is experienced mainly by so -called brachycephalic breeds with a “flat nose” such as pug or bulldog, who already have problems with breathing and literally overheat in the sun. Parno can also torment dog seniors, puppies, but also races with longer hair. Their lush mane acts as an insulator of heat, which in winter creates comfort, but in summer it is rather harmful. But fortunately there are ways to relieve your dog.

At home nicely in the shade
“It is important that you can recognize the moment when your dog is not very good. You know the most of the fact that he has (red) his eyes, open mouths and drools. Some dogs are lying on the floor where they cool their tummy,” cool. It can be a shady place in the garden or “asylum” in a garage or cellar. Just anywhere where your pet could go in peace and relax from the intrusive sun rays.
Secure cooling pad
If you travel with the dog, you can substitute its cool place using a cooling pad (to find it in any PET shop). Its interior consists of a special gel that evaporates excess heat. As a result, the animal temperature cools down by 10 – 15 ° C, which can mean incredible relief for the dog. Unfortunately, the disadvantage of this improvement is the fact that it wear quite quickly and loses its cooling effect. Therefore, after a long use, it is good to let the pad “rest” to activate again and serve as before.
An important drinking regime
Drinking regime serves as a natural form of cooling. Therefore, make sure your four -legged pet drink enough. If he doesn’t want much, you can motivate him by dropping something “fragrant” in a bowl of water, such as salmon oil or a little broth. Your darling will then enjoy the drink all the more.
Tiles that will help
Do you have a cooling pad available? You can try at least refreshing tiles. How to do it: Soak the older towel in cold water and place it with a dog on your belly, or on the groin or the inside of your thighs. He will be relieved immediately… The dog in refreshing water has a similar effect, but it also has its rules. “Start bathing from your paws and then wash the whole body,” the expert advises.
In summer the damp feed
Dog lovers agree that it is better to change the feed in the heat. Therefore, instead of dry granules, give your furry rather a “wet diet” – For example, canned – which contains at least some percentage of water. Alternatively, you can combine both types of feed into one to create your pet tasty, rich and refreshing food.
Walk -in
Sure, movement is needed… But in the heat such a walk around the block can be quite difficult for your pet. Therefore, during the day – between 10 and 5 pm – all physically strenuous activities can be reduced as much as possible. Plan a longer walk for the evening when the sun will not ran so much.
Ice cream for overheated pets
Ice cream is a great matter in the summer, not only for humans but also for animals. Make your dog such a little cool pleasure. Just take white yogurt and mix it with a portion of fresh fruit, preferably banana. Everything swear into molds and freeze. And it’s done!
