Andrii Parubii had participated in the recent pro-European movements in Ukraine; Zelensky promises an investigation to clarify the circumstances and motives of the crime
Ukrainian deputy Andrii Parubii, former president of Parliament, was shot dead on Saturday in LVIV, west of the country, local authorities said. The Ukrainian police reported a LVIV shooting that “a public personality and known political personality” died from the injuries.
President Volodymyr announced that the victim was Andrii Parubii, president of the Ukrainian parliament between 2016 and 2019. Zelensky lamented a “horrible murder” and promised an investigation to clarify the circumstances and motives of the crime. Authorities reported that they are looking for the author of the shots.
Parubii had participated in the recent pro-European movements in Ukraine, first in the 2004 “orange revolution” and then in the “Maidan Revolution” in 2014.
