The Regional Office of Public Health (RÚVZ) in Rožňava recorded a new outbreak of viral hepatitis A (VHA) in the district at the end of August. Cases of jaundice occurred in the village of Krásnohorské Podhradie. RÚVZ informed about it on his website.
“The new fireplace was established in the village of Krásnohorské Podhradie in a locality with a low hygiene standard of housing,” Hygienists approached. Within the municipality, they register three cases of disease in children under the age of ten. “Medical supervision and vaccination have been ordered by all close contacts in the family,” RÚVZ added.
The occurrence of jaundice type A in the district of Rožňava has been recorded by hygienists in early April in the town of Dobšiná, so far there are 54 cases. Another fireplace occurred in June in the village of Kobeliarovo, in early August the disease spread in Rožňava.
Type A hepatitis is a transmissible disease, it causes viral liver inflammation in humans. The virus is most often transmitted by direct contact. The disease begins with symptoms Reminding for influenza and gastrointestinal symptoms associated with abdominal pain, joints, general nausea, with elevated temperature, and dark urine is also present.
