O Writer Luis Fernando Verissimo will be held this Saturday (30) at the Júlio de Castilhos Hall, at Farroupilha Palace, from 12h to 18haccording to the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul. The author, known in the national literature for his chronicles and tales of everyday life, died today, at the age of 88.
O Parliament Gaucho had already recognized the importance of Verissimo in granting, in 2010, the Farroupilha Merit Medal, the highest honor of the house. The tribute was delivered on September 15 of that year, during the solemn session of Farroupilha Week, which highlighted to culture, education, politics and the state economy.
The Board of Directors of the Assembly, on behalf of the 55 state deputies, highlighted in “Deep regret” grade for the death of the writer, highlighting his invaluable contribution to literature and culture Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil.
