avenues and public places of the city of São Paulo was approved in the first vote on Wednesday (27) by the City Council.
The project will also undergo a second vote and, if approved, will be sent to Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) for sanction.
The proposal was prepared by the feminist bench, PSOL collective mandate, along with civil society organizations, such as my Sampa and Polis Institute.
The group articulates the campaign “Feminicide is not a hero”, which aims, in addition to the approval of the bill, to change the name of streets that already pay tribute to women’s killers.
One of them is Peixoto Gomide Street in the central region, which honors a lawyer and politician who killed the 22 -year -old daughter in 1906 with a shot for disagreements about her love relationship.
