The head of the office of Ukrainian President Andri Jermak on Friday at a meeting with the special ambassador of the United States Steve Witkoff said that Russia is slowing down the efforts of US President Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine. According to the AFP report, TASR informs about this and Jermaka’s contribution on the social network X.

“Ukraine welcomes all peace initiatives submitted by the United States. But unfortunately, each of them is staying Russia,” He wrote Jermak after meeting with the American ambassador in New York. The first deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Serhij Kyslyca also took part in this meeting.

According to the head of the office of the Ukrainian leader, the main priority is to move real diplomacy and ensure the implementation of all agreements achieved at the recent summit in Washington. “We coordinate our efforts,” stated.

Jermak said that at the beginning of the meeting, Witkoff informed about “war crimes that Russia is committing daily in our cities and communities in Ukraine.“In particular, he said he spoke of a large rocket and drone attack on Kiev from night to Thursday, which claimed 23 dead, including four children.

“Unfortunately, Russia will not be able to fulfill anything that is needed to end the war and clearly prolongs enemy actions. Ukraine supports the fixed determination of President Trump, as well as all partners, to achieve permanent peace as soon as possible,” Jermak wrote.

Added that Ukraine is open to direct negotiations at the level of leaders. Kiev is also ready to discuss the broadest spectrum of questions. According to him, Ukraine believes that global pressure is needed to ensure that Russia is truly ready to head to peace and especially to organize a critically important meeting of leaders.
