The general will be tried in the (Federal Supreme Court) from next week for coordinating or participated in the most violent actions investigated in the coup plot, such as the plan to kill authorities and virtual attacks to press commanders of the Armed Forces.
Candidate for vice president on the plate of (PL) in 2022, the military is appointed as one of the key figures of the criminal organization that was intended to give a coup.
According to (Attorney General of the Republic), as a four-star general, Braga Netto not only had institutional power to contain the former president’s onslaught, but was also legal and morally forced to do so, which aggravates his criminal responsibility.
The defense of the general, who calls for his acquittal, disputes all accusations, which he calls “unfounded misrepresentation and unlinctions.”
The main strategy of the defense is the questioning of the award -winning collaboration, pointing to contradictions, different versions and temporal lapses. Lawyers classify it from “the most problematic denunciation of the history of the Brazilian judiciary,” and say that, based on it, the PGR narrative is a “story made to impress, worthy of a fiction movie.”
The team led by lawyer José Luis Oliveira Lima maintains that the denunciation, despite being the cornerstone of the prosecution, is filled with Contradictions, coercion evidence and lack of corroboration. One of the topics cited is the audios released in which he claims to have been pressured by the PF.
The PGR argues that Cid’s narrative is corroborated by a robust probative set, such as messages recovered from conversations and seized documents.
Braga Netto has been arrested since December 14, 2024, in charge of the 1st Army Division in Rio de Janeiro, on the grounds that to interfere with the investigations. Thus, the general was the only defendant held throughout the process instruction.
The defense made six requests for revocation of the preventive, all denied by Moraes. In the latter, lawyers wanted treatment similar to the data given to Bolsonaro, placed in house arrest.

Green and yellow dagger
According to PGR, the plan to kill authorities was foreseen in a document called “Yellow Green Dagger”, which provided for the murder of then -president -elect Lula (PT), his deputy Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), and the minister. Braga Netto would have coordinated the strategy with the so -called Black Kids, members of the Army Special Forces.

The PGR considers the General’s report. “The narrative turns out to be even more fanciful, considering that the alleged visitors were military personnel of the special forces who had not even residence in Brasilia, and it is unreasonable to admit that they would have traveled hundreds of kilometers for a simple courtesy visit,” the prosecution said.
Financing

“The claim that it would not have delivered money to those responsible for implementing the ‘Copa 2022’ operation is denied by the simple fact that the action was performed by the military, who performed the expenditure provided in the planning phase (hosting, airline tickets, vehicle rental, purchase of cell phones, etc.).”
Forces command pressure
Braga Netto would also have coordinated attacks against military military who opposed the coup. The complaint reports conversations between the general and the retired captain Ailton Gonçalves, also defendant.

Already the defense claims that the accusations are based on prints manipulated and prone as proof, and that this narrative is disproportionate to the facts.
