A former police officer from the Children’s Protection Department in Marseille, southernly, will be brought to justice for alleged rape and sexual abuse of Philippine children on Monday. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.
A forty-six-year-old former police officer who has been in custody for four years was arrested after the youth director reported that a 17-year-old home resident who was a victim of rape received late news from a senior officer responsible for her case. The Prosecutor’s Office in Marseille started the investigation and in June 2021 carried out a raid in the police house, where they seized thousands of pictures with child pornography.
The man had to pay the children
The investigation introduced them except for the Philippines, where a man traveled every year as the head of the French branch of the charity organization helping children from the streets in the capital Manila. Two Filipino orphans at the age of 12 and 15 testified to the investigators that the man had paid their equivalent to a few tens of euros for sex on a deserted land and then in his apartment.
“It was a machiavelistic (cunning, note TASR) Plan – an unprecedented Modus Operandi, where someone presents himself as an ambassador of children’s protection,” said the French lawyer of the French Foundation to protect Children Celine Astolfe, who also acts as a plaintiff in the process. Four other charities for children protection also filed a lawsuit.
