After 17 years of patient waiting, the man opened a carefully stored bottle of whiskey with hope for an exceptional experience. Instead, however, there was a bitter lesson about the transience of AO things and why there was no need to postpone some moments.
There are gifts that do not deserve to be forgotten somewhere on the shelf. Yet this was exactly what happened to one man who in 2008 postponed a bottle of Johnnie Walker Green Label as a memory of work successes and team friendships. He planned to open it on an exceptional occasion. But the years have passed and he reappeared the bottle after nearly two decades. When he finally decided to indulge in a glass, it was far from as festive as he imagined.
When you wait too long
The original value of the bottle was not so much financially as emotional. He got it as a sign of recognition from colleagues with whom he shared demanding time. At that time it was one of the owned he owned and therefore put it down for a special moment. But the moment never came. And as it turned out Also, the bottle did not age as he expected.
When trying to open, he found that The cork has completely disintegrated over the years. Parts of the plug were stuck in the throat and the rest ended directly in the drink. His story is a reminder of how often we hide things “on then”. Whether it is clothes, good food or, we tend to postpone the joy of thinking that a better time will come. But maybe the moment will never come. Meanwhile, we, our values, but also the objects themselves are changing.

While whiskey could still offer a pleasant taste, the experience of it was no longer what the man had dreamed of. What he took was not a taste in the mouth, but the permanent realization that life is not a waiting room and that not all opportunities are repeated. So why wait?
