The Brazilian women’s volleyball team is unbeaten in and secured a place in the quarterfinals after defeating the By 3 sets to 1 (18/25, 25/12, 25/20 and 25/12), this Sunday (31), in Bangkok, Thailand. Under the command of Zé Roberto, the team keeps alive the dream of the unprecedented title. The next challenge will be against France, an opponent that Brazil exceeded 3-2 in the last confrontation.
The duel began with nervous Brazil and making mistakes that facilitated the lives of Dominicanas, who opened 14 to 10. The Gabi tip led the reaction with eight points, but partial ended 25/18 to the Caribbean team after a Kisy attack error.
In the second set, Zé Roberto promoted important changes: Roberta and Rosamaria entered the places of Macris and Kisy. The answer was immediate. Roberta shone in the loot, scored three accesses in a row and pulled a sequence of 6/0. With the most balanced team, Julia Bergmann, Rosamaria and Gabi took the protagonism in the attack, and Brazil closed the partial with peace of mind: 25/12.
Maintaining the same formation, the selection has controlled the third set from the beginning. Gabi was decisive again and the team won by 25/20, without scares. In the fourth partial, Brazil took advantage of the errors of opponents and dominated the game with an efficient blockade and offensive participation of almost all players. The score of 25/12 sealed the 3-1 win.
With 100% success, the Brazilian team advances packed to the knockout. The team has already reached four World Cup finals, but has always been silver – the last of them in 2022, against Serbia. Now, it seeks to transform the perfect campaign the title that is missing in its history.
