The former president () has been through a series of mishaps with the court since it was launched in February 2024, Operation Tempus Veritatis, with the aim of ascertaining the existence of a criminal organization involved in the attempted coup d’état of 2022.
In the period, the former president was prevented from leaving the country, admitted the possibility of asking asylum, called demonstrations in favor of amnesty and saw growing abroad the chance to press the (Supreme Court) against a conviction.
He also said he thought he would die in prison, called “crazy” supporters who were in scammer camps encouraged by him and was the target of precautionary measures such as the use of an anklet.
Finally, it has been under house arrest since August 4, due to non -compliance with a precautionary that prohibited it from using social networks, even through third parties.
