O Luso-Israelita Idan Shatives
The Israeli government has announced that it has identified the remains of a second hostage that was recently recovered from Gaza. It is Luso-Israelite Idan Shtivi, 28. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has already sent condolences to the family.
The Israeli army announced on Friday that it brought back the remains of two hostages, of which only one was initially identified. This hostage was identified as Ilan Weiss56, killed during the attack on ‘Kibutz’ Be’eri.

In October 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep dismay for the death of the Hamas hostage with Portuguese nationality Idan Sthivi, which was kidnapped on October 7, 2023.

In a message on social network X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal paid “a sense of the Portuguese-Israelite citizen Idan Shtivi” and presented “condolences to the family and the people of Israel, sympathized with their suffering”.
The ambassador of Israel in Portugal, Oren Rozenblat, said in a message published on social network X on Saturday that Idan Shtivi’s body was recovered by Israel “in a complex military operation.”
Israel has been ongoing a military offensive in the range of Gaza since suffered an attack by the Palestinian radical group Hamas on October 7, 2023, which caused about 1,200 dead and 250 hostages, of which 48 remain in Gaza.
