Israeli government confirms death of Hamas spokesman in a bombing in Gaza

Israel Minister of Defense congratulates the Israelite army and Shin Bet – Israel’s Internal Intelligence Agency – “for the perfect execution” of the bombing that took place against the Al Rimal neighborhood in the city of Gaza.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed on Sunday the death of the spokesman for Hamas’s armed arm (al Qasam brigades), Abu Obeida, in a bombing launched on Saturday against the city of Gaza.

“Hamas Terrorism spokesman, Abu Obeida, was eliminated in Gaza and sent to meet with all Iran’s evil axis liquidators, Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen at the bottom of hell,” says Katz’s message released on his social network account.

The Israeli Defense Minister also congratulated in his message the Israelite army and Shin Bet – Israel’s Internal Intelligence Agency – “for the perfect execution” of the bombing that took place against the Al Rimal neighborhood of Gaza.

“Soon, with the intensification of the campaign in Gaza, you will find many more of your crime accomplices there: Hamas killers and violators,” said the former Foreign Minister, attaching a photo of Obeida – who always appeared with a face covered by a kufiya (traditional scarf in checkered) – scratched with a large red cross.

Katz’s confirmation comes after hours earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself confirmed at the beginning of the meeting of his office that the target of the attack in Gaza had been obey.

Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in Gaza, after the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, the Al Qasam brigades spokesman recorded several videos in which he reported on the position of the Palestinian group regarding negotiations or hostage destination.

In July 2024, Israel also killed Hamas’s political leader and most moderate face, Ismail Haniyeh, in an explosion in the building in Tehran where he was staying.

In addition, on October 17 last year, he confirmed that he killed Hamas’s top leader Yahya Sinwar, considered the brain of the 2023 attacks and the most sought after man by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
