A large percentage of college students from Porto and Braga are displaced. For these, the home demand drama has begun. It is virtually impossible to get a quarter for less than 350 euros, and in many cases without contract and without adequate accommodation conditions.
Academic life now begins for thousands of students entering higher education. But the joy of having entered the university bumps into the difficulty in finding accommodation. SIC’s reporting team witnessed this reality.
Went looking for rooms for students near university poles in Porto and found nothing below 350 euros. Displaced students subject to a precarious accommodation marketwith small spaces at high prices. And common areas, such as Bathrooms, living room and kitchen, in poor condition.
According to the data from the the average price of a quarter exceeds 400 euros monthlyan increase compared to 2024. The highest price climb was the Norte of the country. A room in Porto Ronda now the 400 euros. Em Braga and Aveirosurpasses the 300 euros.
High values to which other monthly costs are added. All of this can have a even greater impact.
