At least 600 people died and about two thousand were injured after a magnitude 6 earthquake and several replicas hit East Afghanistan on Sunday night, official sources said Monday.
“In the districts of Nurgal, Sawkay, Watapur, Dara Pech and Chapi Dara, approximately 600 people died, about two thousand were injured and hundreds of houses were destroyed,” Efe Ihsanullah Ihsan, Kunar Information and Culture Director, told Kunar Information and Culture, one of the affected provinces.
