Senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI) reacted on Sunday (31) to the accusations released by the ICL Notícias portal, according to which he would have received a briefcase sent by heads of a CCP-linked scheme.
The complaint, based on testimony of a witness to the Federal Police, points out that a cash bag would have been delivered to the parliamentarian in Brasilia in August 2024.
In a letter sent to the Minister of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, Nogueira classified the ICL as a “gunman website” and rejected all charges. The senator stated that he never kept in touch with the suspects and asked the Federal Police to urgently to support the entrance records into their cabinet and offices, as well as security images.

The parliamentarian stressed that it provides all its secrecy – telephone, banking and cabinet – to demonstrate that it has no connection with any criminal faction. “I want more, and no less investigation,” he said in the statement sent to the ministry.
The complaint involves Mohamad Hussein Mourad, the “cousin”, and Roberto Augusto Leme da Silva, the “Beto Crazo”, pointed out by the PF as leaders of a billionaire fraud scheme in the fuel sector and investment funds management. Both have been on the run since the outbreak of Operation Hidden Carbon, which brought together Federal Police, Federal Revenue and Public Prosecution Service last week.

Attached, correspondence from the ICL website, admittedly a left piston site against its opponents, a kind of digital militia, with very serious and unfair slander imputed against me by an alleged deponent who would have told the Federal Police – under your command – which I would have:
- Received money in kind of a figure pointed out as leader of the CCP;
- That he and some of his representatives would have met with me in my office;
- That I would have acted in favor with the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), to benefit this criminal organization;
- That my positions about the project that is being processed in the Federal Senate, about the stretch debtor could have any connection with this sordid plot.
In informing you of your excellence that these people have never been in my office, that because they have never proximity to any kind, and therefore could never have a lawyer for their benefit and the unacceptable hypothesis that they could have favored me financially, in any way, is absolutely lying, I ask you to determine, with the urgency, the Federal Police, which requests the entry registers in the year or in year mentioned in the year or Any year, and that requires the images and entry records at their headquarters or their offices.

I make, through this, all my secrecy available (starting with my office, my phone and all the others) to prove that in time I have any connection with any criminal faction.
I understand that freedom of the press is a fundamental value of democracy and all who know me know that the fight against crime in general and organized crime, in particular, has always been and will be one of the flags of my activity as a parliamentary.
I request urgency and want to believe that the important combat and repression of criminal organizations will not be used as an instrument of political persecution through the proliferation of false and absolutely liars and that never happened or would happen.
