Palmeiras and Corinthians drew 1-1 on Sunday night (31), at Neo Chemistry Arena. The goals were from Victor Roque, penalty, and Piquerez, against.
With the result, Abel Ferreira’s team lost a chance to approach Flamengo, leader of the Brazilian Championship. The Rio team tied with Grêmio 1-1 in Maracanã and went to 47 points, against the now 43 of the Paulistas, who have one game less and are in third position. Between the two there is Cruzeiro, with 44 and one more match than Flamengo and two more than Palmeiras.
Corinthians is the 11th place with 26 points. The team channels their strengths to the Brazilian Cup dispute, a competition in which they are in the quarterfinals, after eliminating Palmeiras himself in the round of 16.
The match began with Palmeirense superiority. Abel Ferreira’s team had their first good chance with Vitor Roque, who kicked on the network outside six minutes. Soon after, Flaco López finished from outside the area for the defense of Hugo Souza.
