The governor of, (), suffered an accident on Sunday (31) while inspecting the works in Parque Novo Mato Grosso, according to his advisory.
In a statement published on a social network, the advisory says it was a “small accident” and that the governor “is fine, goes through exams, and is still under observation.” He is at Santa Casa State Hospital, in.
The advisory did not explain how the accident went and how the governor was injured.
Mauro Mendes is 61 years old and exercises his second term in the government of Mato Grosso. He was also mayor of Cuiabá.
The park’s works, in an area of 300 hectares in Baixada Cuiabana, began in late 2021.
At the time, the state government reported that the park would have an race track, parking for over 12,000 vehicles, space for shows and events for 100,000 people, among other sports and leisure structures.
