Hundreds of media add up to a global action against the murder of journalists in Gaza

More than 200 media from 50 countries, dozens in Spain, add this Monday to the global mobilization, to denounce “the deliberate massacre of journalists in Gaza” and demand unrestricted access from the foreign press to the strip.

In addition, media workers and their representation bodies are called to support a minute of silence this Monday at 12:00 hours at noon at the door of their venues or in writings.

“If the Israeli army continues to kill journalists at this rhythm, there will soon be none in Gaza to inform you,” is the message proposed by RSF to the media that can be published in different versions (on cover or ‘banner’ in digital version, with black screen for televisions and voice in off or metronome for radios).

In Spain, the call is made in coordination with the Federation of Associations of Journalists of Spain (FAPE), the Network of Professional Associations, the Madrid Press Association, the Col. Legi de Perbelistes de Catalunya, the Spanish Confederation of Unions of Journalists, UGT, CCOO, the Company Committees and Drafting Councils of the different media.

“If the Israeli army continues to kill journalists at this rate, there will soon be none in Gaza to inform you,” is the proposed message, in addition to a text in which the media explains that “it joins the global initiative for and the access of the foreign press to the strip.”

For the written press, he proposes to publish the message on the cover or a ‘banner’ in its digital version, or support the initiative with informative and/or editorial content on interior pages.

For digital media or digital versions of traditional media, you can include a ‘banner’ on the home page with the message and reinforce with informative and/or editorial content.

For television, the organization proposes to disseminate a black screen (or with the graphic elements that are preferred) with the suggested message, while radio stations can spread a voiceover, a metronome, an accountant or a “mic check” accompanied by the phrase.

The media that participate can also spread the content on social networks, and proposes a label: #Protectjournalistsingaza #letreportesintoagaza

According to reporters without borders on their website, dozens of Spanish media have joined, among them, RTVE; ‘El País’ (editorial content), EITB, Iberian press (editorial content in all its headwaters); La Sexta, ‘eldiario.es’, ‘public’; EFE agency; 5W Magazine, Infolibre, El Salto or ‘El Heraldo de Aragón’. El HuffPost It will be added with content regarding this special day.

Among the internationals, are, among others, Al Jazeera (Qatar); ‘The Independent’ (United Kingdom); Mediapart (France); ‘Der Frietag’ (Germany); ‘Le soir’ (Belgium); ‘La Libre Belgique’ (Belgium); New Bloom (Taiwan); Photon Media (Hong Kong); ‘Media Today’ (South Korea); ‘Il Dubbio’ (Italy) or Public Agència (Brazil).

The initiative comes after at least ten months at least 250 journalists have been killed by the Israeli army in this enclave, more than in any other war in modern history.
