Dutch striker Memphis Depay agreed to receive in installments the values ​​that owes him, according to the newspaper report The State of S. Paulo. The negotiation represents a relief to the São Paulo club that faces serious financial difficulties. The agreement has not yet defined the exact number of installments.

From the amount due to the player, R $ 11 million correspond to awards for goals achieved, such as participation in goals and presence in the list of relationships for matches. Corinthians also owes striker Gloves who won this Monday (1st.Set.2025).

The relationship between Memphis and the club from São Paulo has experienced difficult times in recent months. On June 26, the Dutch legal team sent a notification to Corinthians charging R $ 6 million in late amounts, regarding the award for the Paulista Championship and Image Rights.

In the notification sent in June, the lawyers of Memphis mentioned the possibility of “Do not fulfill obligations” If the situation of late payments were not resolved. After the episode, the Corinthian board made part of the amounts due to the player.

The impeachment process that dismissed, former President Augusto Melo and changes in the directive body caused insecurity in the attacker. A specific point of discontent was the departure of the chief financial officer Pedro Silveira, in April, with whom Memphis had a good relationship.

The ongoing agreement directly involves President Osmar Stábile, who took office. The board considers the understanding with the player an important achievement, especially after the recent uncomfortable moments.

Corinthians’ financial problems are not limited to the situation with Memphis. The club also faces difficulties in paying off a debt of $ 40 million with Santos Laguna, Mexico, regarding the hiring of the player Felix Torres.

While not resolving the pending with the Mexican club, Corinthians is prevented from recording new athletes.
