Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) authorized Senator Damares Alves (Republicans-DF) to visit former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on Monday, between 10am and 18h. According to the decision, the visit must comply with all legal and judicial conditions already imposed on the defendant.

The visit takes place a day before the trial began at the Bolsonaro Supreme Court and seven other defendants for alleged coup plot after the 2022 elections. The former president has been under house arrest since August 4.

The decision states that all vehicles leaving Bolsonaro’s residence should be searched.

The monitoring will also be done outside during the visit, according to the decision of the last day 30.

On Tuesday, in addition to Bolsonaro, seven other defendants appointed by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) as members of the “crucial core” of the alleged coup are judged by the Supreme Court. They will not need to attend in person.
