STF does not record vote of Cármen Lúcia in 8 cases of 8/1 – 01/09/2025 – Panel

The vote of the Minister of (Supreme Federal Court) was not registered in the virtual trial of at least eight convicted by, including a major from the Federal District Military Police reserve.

Sought on August 13, the Supreme said that there was a mistake in the system. “Minister Cármen Lúcia launched votes on the criminal actions mentioned, but the system did not register. She will forward a letter asking for rectification to register the votes,” he said.

Asked again last week, the Supreme said that the minister has already asked her to be included in the eight criminal actions.

The situation has intrigued the defense of other January 8 defendants who will still be tried by the first class of the Supreme Court, of which Cármen Lúcia is part.

The eight identified cases occurred in a virtual session between June 27 and August 5. In all, the defendants were convicted of the vote of the other ministers of the First Class-Alexandre de Moraes, Cristiano Zanin, Flávio Dino and Luiz Fux-the same as the former president (PL) will be. In six of the eight cases, Fux diverged from Moraes about the size of the penalty.

One of the convicts is the Major of the DF Military Police reserve Claudio Mendes dos Santos, appointed as one of the leaders in front of the Army Headquarters, in, after to Lula (PT).

The major gave testimony to the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of the Legislative Chamber in November 2023. “If the President of the Republic, Jair Messias Bolsonaro, and said ‘personal, go away’, everyone had gone,” he said.
