“He [Bolsonaro] I wanted to go, but obviously it can’t. He is not healthy at the moment to be there, watching ten hours watching that theater of Alexandre de Moraes with everything already programmed, manipulated, combined, ”the senator told journalists in the Senate.
The Supreme Court began the trial of Bolsonaro and seven other defendants in the action of the alleged attempt to coup after the 2022 elections.
“I was there with him [Bolsonaro] yesterday. He is there firm, but he is outraged by what can not be called a process, as he has been manipulated since the beginning by Alexandre de Moraes, ”said Flávio.
The trial in the Supreme Court is carried out by the first class, composed by ministers Alexandre de Moraes (rapporteur), Cristiano Zanin (president of the class), Cármen Lúcia, Flávio Dino and Luiz Fux. The collegiate will have extraordinary sessions on September 2, 3, 9, 10 and 12 for case analysis.
In criticizing the process in the Supreme, Flávio reinforced the defense for the approval of a broad, general and unrestricted amnesty project. According to him, deputies and senators analyze a new text that should be presented in the “next few days”.
The proposal should also be debated with the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), who came to Brasilia on Tuesday.
“I talk to him [Tarcísio] every day. It has been a great ally, a person who is loyal to President Bolsonaro, all the time is helping us, help in the articulation, is a great leadership. And we will be together today, too, ”said the senator.
Senate Audience
Flávio decided not to watch the trial at the Supreme Court and marked this morning an audience at the Public Security Commission. The board, chaired by him, listens on Tuesday by video conferencing, Eduardo Tagliaferro, former special advisor to the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) during the management of Moraes.
Tagliaferro was head of the special advice on confrontation to misinformation during the period in which Moraes presided over the Electoral Court. He was denounced by the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) for the leakage of messages exchanged between staff of the Moraes Office.
In May, the Federal Police indicted Tagliaferro for violation of functional confidentiality with damage to the public administration. On 23 August, the PGR filed a complaint against the former advisor for the crimes of violation of functional confidentiality, coercion in the course of the process, obstruction of criminal offense investigation involving criminal organization and attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law.
