Criminals set fire to barricades during PM operation in Rio

The early morning of Tuesday (2) was marked by tension in the community of Mangueira, in the north of Rio de Janeiro, after military police from COE (Special Operations Command) start a Operation to combat the crime organized in the region.

Criminals and used vehicles to try to block the advance of the PM teams. Images show the fire spreading through the streets while police accessed the community.

By safety measure, Ten municipal schools from the region suspended classes.

The action remains underway, without confirmed information so far about arrests, seizures or injured.
