The Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic should save approximately EUR 16 million in consolidation. The Ministry plans to reduce costs, for example, by dismissing employees or moving to other, cheaper spaces. The Minister of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic Rudolf Huliak (independent) informed on Tuesday at a press conference.
The Ministry should currently work on all alternatives to the solution of the announced investigation. Huliak explained that by Thursday every single minister should meet with the Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic Ladislav Kamenický (Smer-SD). “We should discuss this on the basis of the submitted materials whether we are able to save the funds in the resorts or we are not,“The head of the tourism department said. In his words, the coalition council should then be closed by Sunday.
Huliak also commented on the question of consolidation on saving in higher territorial units (VÚC). According to him, the HTU is an unnecessarily double -dramatic body. “We will do everything we can to make a structural change within the certainly rationalization of public administration, ” approached. He also stressed that he wanted the HTU to be canceled as such. He added that consolidation should not affect the tourism support fund or the sport support fund.
