New earthquake of magnitude 5.2 reaches Afghanistan

After Sunday’s earthquake, which caused more than 1,400 dead, Afghanistan feels a new shake again

A new 5.2 magnitude shake on the Richter scale reached east of Afghanistan, affected on Sunday by an earthquake that caused more than 1,400 dead and about 3,100 injured.

The United States Geological Service (USGS) indicated in a statement that the epicenter was located about 35 kilometers east of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province, while the hypocenter was located about ten kilometers deep.

Information on new victims or material damage is not known to date.

The earthquake recorded on Sunday night, who also had the epicenter near Jalalabad, left 1,411 dead and 3,124 injured, according to the latest balance of the Taliban authorities in Power in Afghanistan.
